DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: Through the name and logo, we wanted to tell the story of the meeting and the union of two people. There is an event between them that unites them for the rest of their lives - a wedding ceremony. The two become one. This connecting moment is fixed in the center of the logo. The logo is font, as the oath is words.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: Logo style: luxury in its simplicity. Therefore, the main task was to tell the story, while making the logo minimalistic and luxurious.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: We are a young studio and have not yet gained a significant level of authority. Thus, we have tested how good our design is, on the example of this project. Therefore, in the future we plan to tell everyone about our award in order to confirm our authority.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: About one month to complete this project.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: We were approached by a wedding agency to develop a name and logo based on the specifics of their work. We did some analysis and eventually came up with this concept.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: The name and logo are used by our customer - the wedding agency.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: We use some design steps: full research of a product, market and competitors. Then we work in detail with the pale mental map, where we find the concept for the project. And next comes the technical part.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: My work is influenced by the main designer in my life — my wife.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: This project differs from others in that it has its own values: ritual, uniqueness, emotion. It also has its own style: luxury in its simplicity.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The name "vow" reflects two aspects. The first is that the organization of weddings is designed for wow effect, which is consonant with the name. The second is that the word "oath" metaphorically carries the meaning of unification and giving itself to another.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: We used tools from Adobe Package: Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro. We designed mental map in Xmind app.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: Uniqueness in the story of the unification of two people and its transformation into a name and logo.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: I only worked with my wife.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: Based on the specific field of activity of the customer, for whom this project was developed, the emphasis is placed more on the emotional part, rather than on the technology.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: Yeah, of course. First of all, we start with the analysis: first we send the brief to the customer, based on the answers, we start market research (same products and competitors). Next we process all the data through several stages of pale mental map (this is a personal development and approach of our studio). After that, we get a ready concept and foundation for the work. And only at this stage we begin to sketch and work with the visual part of the project.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: Actually, there were no problems while working on this project.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: We've never participated in a competition of this level before. But sooner or later we have to start somewhere. We need to grow up and gain popularity. So I felt that now we are ready to take part in competition and submitted our work.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: Perhaps the most important discovery for me is that I realized what things need to be improved in our studio to communicate with customers.
DI: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
