DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
CF : The chair is inspired by a toilet roll and the fact that the kid can design their own chair.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
CF : My main focus was to design something especially for children, which would also allow the kids to be creative and interact with it.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
CF : I would like to continue to exhibit the chair in museums around the world and possibly getting it into production.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
CF : I first came up with the idea in 2004 and developed the concept onto present date.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
CF : I made it to pursuit an inspiration, because the particular concept was to tell stories with furniture.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
CF : I indend to get it into production.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
CF : I was working with different furniture that told stories of everyday life, like stress, animal welfare, genetic manipulation, use of paper or recycling...
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
CF : No, not really.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
CF : It was targeted for children.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
CF : It let's the kid feel creative and also appeals to the parents because they can store all the drawings.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
CF : It stands for a collection of all the drawings.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
CF : I used my hand and a pencil for the sketch, and later on AutoCAD.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
CF : It reinvents a way of drawing for kids.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
CF : The idea is my own, and I had a metal workshop to do the structure.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
CF : It's a basic frame work with simple a simple mechanism that has a spring that holds the paper roll into place.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
CF : No, it is not.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
CF : Figuring out a best position for the paper roll and movement of the paper as it was drawn on.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
CF : I was personally invited to participate by the A'Design Award.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
CF : I learned that giving the user a different experience when interacting with the object brings a lot of satisfaction.
