DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: There are different darkness of lens. However, people can only choose one which suit them most. Is it really suitable to use in all situations? Then, Some questions keep looping in my mind: Is it possible to make an user-centered sunglasses? How to let the users change the darkness of lens?
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: I want to design a sunglasses which the user can change the darkness of lens by one twist.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: There are no similar products in the market.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The structure of the sunglasses is new. And it need a pair of magnets to stick together. Just like your soulmate, she/he can understand you well and align with you.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Corel Draw.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The structure and function.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: The application of double polarized lens.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: I just interviewed people about the opinion of the existing sunglasses.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: The mechanism part is most difficult for me. I only learn a little bit theory about polarizer in high school. I first use the physics theory to design the sunglasses. When I started the experiment, I found that it is so difficult to make both sides the same. If the rotating angles of both lenses is different, it will become a 3D glasses. So I spend many weeks to settle the problems. Besides, the weight of the magnetic clip-on is also a problem. Since it is made by titanium and there are eight magnets on it. So it may fall down when clipped. So I have to calculate the weight and try again and again.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: I have submit another design last year and won the silver A' award. So I want to try again this year.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: Eyewear is a small product. And there are lots of small part I need to pay attention to. For example the curvature of the lens. If I want to twist, I cannot use the lens with big curvature. I learnt a lots eyewear details in this project.
