DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: The main idea is to build a table adaptable to the user needs. Which is giving the best idea, solution and realization of the problem. In certain situations, we get the need to improve.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: My main focus is to perform a solution adept to existing configurations of lounge/bed and comfort chairs.
But mainly is to have my own working table to replace the wooden chair I am using.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: To provide further development and have the idea realize.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: It took me 1 year and 7 months from idea to concept.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: I designed this product to fit my needs as my room doesn't fit a proper working table and also identify certain ergonomic problem. Often times we use a stool or a chair beside the table. Which i do.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: Currently it has not been produced but to be worked on that direction. Yes, I am planning to lease the production rights but would depend on the market area.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: Due to the need and promote continuous improvement.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: Day to day activities have somehow brought up the design concept up to now. Working with design oriented colleagues have added up some influences.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: The design idea would fit well on consumer and personal use since it is mostly having the same needs in relation to comfort.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: Different approach in providing solution which is more to hands free use and operation.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The name Ergo-Table describes more of the objective which is human form function.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Use of sketches and CAD software.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The no. of features which are usable to aid its function in ergonomics.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: As it is more on the design conceptual stage, more towards my close friends and family on sharing the idea.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: Validating the design, and getting the proof of concept in its track.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: Data gathered was more on individuals preference and more or less similar problem which will improve ergonomic needs of the user.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: Challenges is more on integrating the design into having a single/whole part with the bed.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: By having to realize that the design/idea would be suitable to others and get some feed backs.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: Learning the importance of moving forward thru hardships.
