DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: I came up with this design while on crutches. My old back pack was uncomfortable when I used my crutches, so I altered it to go through my hoodie, and the swack concept was born.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: My main focus was functionality, I wanted it to look good and be functional as well.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: Keep enhancing it with different colors and newer generations.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: It took me about 4-6 months to get it perfect.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: Like I mention in the previos question I came up with this design when I was on crutches.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: My design is now for sale at swackonline.com, and I wouldn't mine selling or leasing the production rights. This design is patent pending.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: I designed this particular item off of a concept I came up with when I was injured.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: My target customer is the youth(kids, teens of either gender)
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: There is nothing similar to this in the world, at least that I know of.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The name comes from the fusing of the words SWeater pACK.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: I had a my mom sew a concept together for me.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The unique aspects of this design is the hidden straps of the backpack. If you look at the design from the front you can't tell that your wearing a backpack.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: I worked with this young amazing designer.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: velcro, quick snaps.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: Finding a factory who could produce the design.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: I seen the A'Design award mentioned on Yanko.com website.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: I live in Chicago, il. I learned how to design and produce and item through this whole process.
