DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
ADC : The main principle behind our design is to protect the product inside while showcasing it in the best possible way. Our idea was to create an attractive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing package for Sottos Family Espresso that captures consumers' attention and leaves a positive impression of the product.
Inspiration for packaging design can come from various sources such as nature, art, architecture, fashion, history, and culture. Designers often seek inspiration from diverse fields to craft unique and striking packaging that stands out in the market.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
ADC : Our concept creates a cohesive image for the company, enhancing its brand recognition and reinforcing its professional image. By continuously monitoring trends and evolving our designs, we ensure the company remains modern and competitive in the market. Our commitment to a high-quality and professional approach lays a strong foundation for the growth and success of this brand. ADC : The award-winning project will be showcased on our website and social media pages to attract new clients and partners.

ADC : The design completion took three months.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
ADC : There were no specific guidelines from the client regarding the design direction. However, based on the brief we received and the impression we wanted our design to convey, we arrived at this particular concept. We designed this concept to create something original and impressive that would stand out. Our inspiration came from a desire to create something unique and offer our clients a truly exceptional experience.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
ADC : Our decision to design this specific project stems from the desire to meet our client's needs and requirements, offering them an advanced and modern packaging solution. Through our design, we aim to reflect the client's brand identity and effectively communicate the intended message to the audience.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
ADC : Our influences come from a wide variety of sources. Firstly, we closely follow global packaging design trends, researching and learning from the most successful and innovative works presented. Additionally, we draw inspiration from top designers and design agencies whose work we admire and respect. Studying their creations provides us with insights and helps us develop our aesthetic.
Furthermore, engaging and collaborating with other designers through workshops, events, and joint projects allows us to exchange ideas and grow creatively. These diverse sources of inspiration and influence enable us to create designs that are contemporary, original, and reflective of our unique artistic approach.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
ADC : The target customers for this design are coffee shops that aim to offer their customers high-quality products with an impressive and elegant shelf presence. Sottos Family seeks to attract these clients by providing products that stand out in both quality and design, thereby creating a new aesthetic in the coffee industry. This strategy enables the company to tap into a new market and create additional opportunities to boost its retail sales. In doing so, Sottos Family not only elevates its quality and aesthetic identity but also dispels the notion that wholesale products should stay under the radar, opening up new possibilities in the coffee retail sector.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
ADC : This design stands out from other similar packages due to its minimalist style. The simplicity of the forms and colors makes the product immediately noticeable and easily understood by the consumer. Additionally, its appearance gives the impression of a high-quality, premium product. These combined elements make the product distinct from the competition and capture the consumer's interest.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
ADC : The name of this design was chosen by our client. Respecting their wishes, we decided to use the proposed name, which appears to reflect the philosophy and values they want their product to convey. While we cannot provide a specific interpretation of the name, the most important aspect is that it meets our client's criteria and requirements.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
ADC : While working on this project, we utilized the Adobe Creative Suite for the packaging design. This suite comprises several popular design software tools, including Adobe Photoshop for photo and graphic editing, Adobe Illustrator for creating vector graphics, and Adobe InDesign for designing print materials. Using these tools allowed us to craft a meticulous and professional design for our product packaging.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
ADC : The unique aspect of our design is the emphasis on the visual representation of freshly ground coffee and its distinctive aroma. This approach allows our packaging to convey a clear and noticeable message directly to the consumer. It gives the consumer a sense of the quality and authenticity of our product, setting it apart from competitors. Additionally, this aesthetic is both unique and attractive, capturing consumer interest and attention.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
ADC : The creative team we collaborated with for designing this packaging is comprised of experienced graphic designers specializing in packaging design. These designers have many years of industry experience and have successfully worked on numerous previous projects. Their expertise in packaging design helped us create a stunning package that stands out and attracts consumers. Working with individuals who possess specialized skills in this field was a key factor in the successful design of this project.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
ADC : To create our design, we conducted a thorough analysis of our client’s competitors and current industry trends. This helped us understand consumer needs and preferences, allowing us to develop a unique and appealing product that stands out in the market.
As a result, we chose to adopt a different design approach that reflects current trends and enables us to distinguish ourselves. We focused on creating a dynamic and modern design that captures consumer interest and makes the product stand out on the shelf.
Analyzing the competition and engaging with our customers helped us shape a design that meets the needs and preferences of the audience while maintaining the uniqueness and value of the product in the market. This approach enabled us to distinguish our aesthetic from competitors and establish a strong presence for our client in this industry.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
ADC : During the design and implementation process, we faced numerous challenges. One of the primary challenges was achieving proper harmony among all the elements we used. It was crucial to create an aesthetically cohesive result, balancing colors, shapes, space, and typography. This required a meticulous approach and close collaboration among our team members.
Another significant challenge was the demand for creativity and innovation. It was essential to find ways to stand out from the competition and offer something unique and original. This pushed us to think outside the box and explore new ideas and approaches. Through this process, we were able to create something truly distinctive and noteworthy.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
ADC : We decided to submit our design to an international design competition to showcase our work to a broader audience and gain recognition from professionals and experts all around the world. Additionally, we wanted to compete with other distinguished designers and learn from their feedback to improve our future projects. Lastly, the opportunity to win awards and recognition provided us with strong motivation to participate in an international design competition.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
ADC : During the design process for this project, we learned to be more organized and efficient in managing our time and intentions. Additionally, we improved our communication and collaboration skills within the team and effectively managed the challenges that arose throughout the project. Finally, we learned to be flexible and adapt our strategies according to the needs and changes that emerged.
