DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
NO : Each heart has its own key, only those who truly love can find it.
It is a relationship based on honesty and sacrifice.
Based on this fact, i created this character that represents a woman’s tenderness, femininity and strong personality,
who does not accept to open her heart except to the one who deserve it.
Thats why she made a special key and hid it in the deepest point of the sea,
then surrounded it with difficult tests that only an honest person could pass.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
NO : My main focus was to highlight the pure love relationship between two,
and how simple it seems to others, yet it contains a huge amount of details in its essence that defined all its paths and results.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
NO : I have two ideas, one is to engrave it on an ornate wooden and metal box, Its elements are interspersed with glass pieces
in special colors that reflect its fine details, and containing a real lock and key, to put the most valuable possessions in it.
and the second is to have it on the metal gate of a house with its lock and key,
and to include the same design elements in every window and wall.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
NO : Almost 4 months, from sketching to research to illustration to the final look.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
NO : No it wasn't commissioned, This is one of my own pieces of arts, one of many designs i did,
that add more mastery to me day after day, and a design that proves my abilities.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
NO : It is not produced for any company yet, but i started my research to produce it as a personal effort.
And i am willing to sell it if i get an interested buyer.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
NO : Self challenge, And i always wanted to discover my abilities , and to sail in the ocean of art in all its directions.
Art is without limits, and there are always new methods & styles worth exploring.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
NO : I resorted to many designs, drawings and pictures during the search process,
and many designs of mysterious characters done by several artists, in order to help myself
in forming the idea and make it appear more beautiful and distinctive in its final appearance.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
NO : Everyone who cares about details and prestige illustrations, and mysterious geometric art.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
NO : Its unique shape and style, and the diverse combinations of symbols and techniques used to distinguish it.
I've often avoided the use of symmetrical geometry in this character, in order to give each shape its own personality, not to mention the emphasis on how they relate to each other in meaning.
And as always, I couldn't leave it without designing a unique calligraphic logo, to give the design its own identity.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
NO : The name is taken from the word Janan in the Arabic language, and it indicates the deepest point in the heart,
where the secrets and sincere feelings that reflect the personality.
And when that heart opens to those who deserve it,
everything in it comes out like a symphony that plays all the melodies of love.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
NO : The usual tools i use all the time,
The Pen & Paper, was and still my main material to start a design, write my thoughts or even sketch an idea.
Then for sure the execution part using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Wacom Tablet.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
NO : It is the heart, and how it is based as a balance axis for the personality and its elements around it,
and its clear connection to the key. Two different characters separated by shape, connected by meaning.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
NO : No I did not collaborate with anyone to design this piece, it was a personal challenge.
But i got lots of valuable advises from my friends.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
NO : Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Wacom Tablet, played a significant part of giving this piece its final look.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
NO : I received an email from the A’Design Award that they would like me to submit for the second time.
It was a wonderful moment indeed, and here I am filled with joy again and proud as a winner.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
NO : This work improve my ability to work with the consistency and detail of elements,
even amongst different objects and shapes, and I was able to discover a lot about how to express it in an effective way.
