DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
LJ : Inspired by panda, panda has a beautiful meaning of peace and unity; Panda also symbolizes the harmony between man and nature. From a global point of view, the giant panda symbolizes China, which has a high representative significance, because the giant panda is China's national treasure. The image of panda head is designed in a simple and abstract way.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
LJ : I want to focus on personal feelings, highlight public participation and enhance the interactive relationship between people and sculpture
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
LJ : I want to find a place to land the sculpture
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
LJ : About a week
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
LJ : This design is a sudden inspiration when I see the panda by chance. I don't have any entrustment. I just want to create it myself
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
LJ : I intend to sell or lease its production rights
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
LJ : I want to pursue the combination of sculpture and public facilities to enhance the interaction between sculpture and the public
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
LJ : Although my inspiration comes from the panda, I created it in a minimalist way. The name "arc" can better reflect the concept of the work and guide people to think about the sculpture
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
LJ : 3dmax、Photoshop
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
LJ : Large but not congested, and with the function of public seats, the beautiful arc can add an interesting and beautiful feeling to the surrounding city

LJ : It was designed by myself

LJ : The function of public facilities and the choice of public space are studied
