DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?

FH : An elegant rectangular table with fine lines but that's stable with a natural stone top

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?

FH : To achieve an original design

FH : Continue to market it

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?

FH : 1,5 years

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?

FH : Because I wanted to design it.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?

FH : All parts of this design are produced by local family companies, each specialised in the material individually.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?

FH : The current market trend and competitors designs in the same segment that weren't that good.

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?

FH : Someone who can afford to buy a design table in this price range and who has the same taste as us.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?

FH : The legs.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?

FH : Marcello comes from the dutch word "Marcelleke", which comes from a french formal ex World Boxing Champion, Marcel Cerdan, who cut off the sleeves of its sporting outfit because of sweating. We consider the legs of the Marcello design table, as 'shoulders'.

FH : trial and error

FH : the legs ('shoulders')

FH : Freelance engineer

FH : not a big role.

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?

FH : Primary and secondary market research

FH : Elasticity problems with earlier prototypes.
