DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
PR : The concept of the typeface was to create a modern twist on a sans font.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
PR : During the design process, we wanted to create something fresh and innovative in how the forms and shapes communicate together.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
PR : The font is represented throughout the world via Monotype and T26 font distribution and hopefully enjoyed by other designers in their projects.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
PR : Each of the fonts requires around 3 months of design and engineering.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
PR : It was a design/sketch that seemed to gain a form, that we felt needed to be brought to market.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
PR : The font is widely available with licensing handled by the relative companies.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
PR : We started our foundry in 2020 and this font fits perfectly in our retail fonts distribution.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
PR : I think everything we see influences our execution of a design
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
PR : Our foundry designs fonts by designers for designers.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
PR : The design concept was to create large open counters with great contrast.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
PR : I'm not really sure. But as the font designs progress they seem to naturally have forms that the name changes until that balance of name and form is visually correct.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
PR : Sketchbooks, and then engineered in Glyphs
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
PR : It's form and flow.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
PR : Technology is fundamental in the development of each engineered typeface
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
PR : Probably the biggest problem is dedicating the right time to each stage.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
PR : We love to have our design pied reviewed as it stimulates the process to continue our development.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
PR : Every part of the process is a learning exercise to create new and more complex systems
