DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: I wanted to design a novel chair that explores an Iconic Identity through a design process that could tell a story behind the object. I was looking for achieving originality of the proposal, integration of the object with the context and a consistent production process in relation to the design. In the way of design it, I took into account these design principles: Purpose, functionality, aesthetics, interaction, contemporaneity, and long-lasting or durability.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: I am planning to start a collaboration soon with a professional producer that can manufacture and commercialize this product on license in Europe or worldwide.
During the Milan Design Week, I had the opportunity to exhibit the first prototype of Armonia One and Armonia Urban, this exhibition created a great interest around the design potential and the innovation behind the concept, generating high expectation for this project.
I am also going to continue the development of the product line Armonia, having this design the potential to create an entire furniture collection.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: I developed the concept of this project from July to September 2017. Then in 2019 after one year spent to achieve my master, I start working full time on the design, refining the details until the full-scale prototype was made and exhibited in April 2019.
