DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: I wanted to think about a global concept, to create a key visual that would combine the traditions of the Latin American world, music and culture, with the most actual communication technologies, web and social networks: so I had the idea of designing a big amplifier connected to the whole world.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: The goal was to innovate, to create a communication idea that could transfer the company into a more actual world, using only vector elements without the use/help of pictures.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: I actually have no future plans for this project.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: I spent about a month on this project, from the idea to the realization.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: The project was commissioned by my client with the aim of creating something special.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: The poster was printed for the event that took place in 2013. The rights belong to Latino American Expo.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: The passion for my work helps me to face new projects every time with a different approach.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: My work is the result of many years of experience and personal research. I don't have a favorite designer, I love the use of different graphic languages. However I found a right balance by combining the Swiss graphic style with my Italian origins.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: The outdoor campaign was released in Milan (Italy) and throughout Lombardy region. The ideal target are people between 25 and 40 years old.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: The idea and the graphic representation was something new that my client had never done.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The headline “Join Latin America” has a double meaning: it means "joining us" but it also ask people to share their experience using the social network Apps.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: I used different vector design tools, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: I think the uniqueness combined with a strong graphic representation.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: I worked with the marketing management of Latino Americano Expo.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: I think it plays a fundamental role.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: A Market research confirmed that 70% of visitors of this live event used new technologies and social networks to learn about the upcoming live music concerts.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: The biggest challenge was to not be trivial and to make my client happy
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: I decided after an email received from the A' Design Award Team, asking me to submit my design to the competition.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: I've learned that is important to innovate my ideas every day, to explore new communication languages. Every new project, big or small, is a new chance to do my best e to achieve new goals.
DI: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
: I hope to participate in the competition next year with a new project
