DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: The main principle is an electric sports and racing bike for those who needs a little help in following their training friends.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: I wanted to achieve a clear racing dna as on the real Maserati cars
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: The bike will be sold at Maserati dealers
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: It me about 1 year on total from frist sketch to finalised product
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: The design is chosen out of a given geometry that is already proven by clients who normally ride racing bikes.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: The design is used by Maserati
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: The design is made out of collected insights. From the insights i could see that there was a need for such a product.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: It is people who need a little assist when training with other friends in order to follow them.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: The geometry. It is based on true racing DNA.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The Trofeo is a name wellknown from the Maserati Cars. Means Trophe in English
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Pencil and paper as well as 3D tools
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The True Race DNA combined with an electric motor
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: A motor company called Bafang. Bafang makes the best electric motors for bicycles in the world
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: It is quite big as the motor has to have the perfect balance in the bicycle frame.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: Yes the design is based on insights collected over 6 month.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: The real challenge is to hide the battery in the frame. The bicycle has to look like a normal racing bike even though it is electric.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: I just knew that the bike created a new category in cycling. Therefor also a possible winner of a design award. This bike is by all means innovative and already an icon.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
