DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: From concept to realization the project took almost one year. It was conceived and realized in our own lab in Milan. We started to sell it from April 2018.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: This design is the result of my passion for philosoophy and geometry. The Platonic Solids’ shapes are the perfect definition of the beauty of science. Simplicity makes perfect.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: This design is produced and sold under our brand Touscé
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: This collection is full of energy, as often the Platonic Solids are referred as Sacred Geometry. Sacred geometries are the foundations of energy and awareness, from soul to soul, and across the Universe. Therefore, this collection is part of those structures of soul awakening.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: Yes, I had the chance to work shoulder to shoulder with a 40 years experience goldsmith who helps me realising and finishing each piece..
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: Important. Very important. The solids are designed using CAD/CAM technology, then hand finished.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: Designing the solids in CAD was one of the challenging part of this project as the Platonic solids are three-dimensional geometric forms that are flat faced with straight edges. The body of each geometric formation is bounded by a common face, that together make up the surface of a polygon with each face being joined along a common edge.
