DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: Kaung came from word Kawung, a theme specially designed for the noble in the olden days. It has distinctive values, a perfect self control and clean heart. Developed in Jogjakarta environment. With this philosophy, Kaung is expected to bring elegance and prestigious to its user.
With elegant and smooth design, Kaung is perfect for women. Kawung accent is embedded to its 4 legs. With a strong and continuous line like a number 8, is believed can bring luck and also a symbol of prosperity.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: In this collection, I am trying to bring up the traditional Jogjakarta design theme in olden days. Kaung is expected to bring elegance and prestigious to its user.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: It was not commissioned, I try to bring up an old Javanese theme "Kawung" as the main inspiration.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: I intend to produce it myself.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: The influence came from a theme developed for the noble in Jogjakarta in the olden days.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: With elegant and smooth design, Kaung is perfect for women.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: It has a different theme and feel.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?

: I have a solid professional team support me in visualizing my concept.

: Woodworking technology.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: I have great positive responses during local exhibitions, and also from clients. And so I want to try the international margin.
