DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: The main inspiration is that the collection of the product is exclusive. So, the packaging also must be exclusive.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: We aimed to achieve an unprecedented design approach in a pressurized product category.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: To win more awards and raise this project's and Sisecam's Design Team's awareness globally.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: The concept developed around several days, but sketching, drawing 3d, analyzing and presentation lasts about one week.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: As, I am the design manager of my team, I have a lot of different ideas within my mind. When right idea fits in to right project, such achievements accomplished easily.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: This product is designed especially for our client, Tuborg.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: The curiosity of trying the untried.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: We work as a team. For every project, we have an owner of the general project, but every designer can work on the same project.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: Our client has a customer portfolio already, this design is a gift for all of them.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: Our glass packaging product design is rounded rectengular sectioned and it is hard to use for pressured beverages. The rest of the products within this market are cylindirical sectioned. This unique feature aparts our design from the rest.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: This name belongs to our client's first Brewmaster.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: We start with the idea, then sketch the alternatives. Afterwards, prepare 3d drawings and technical drawings of the chosen alternatives with Catia V5. Then prepare its presentation with 3ds Max and Photoshop programs. After client's reviews, we also prepare 3d prototyping of chosen designs.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The most unique part of our design is, its soft rectengular structure that effused all around the body.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: Project has started with my design team. Industrial designers and analysis engineers are in this team, work collaborately with a special group of people within our company's production community consist of mechanical engineers and marketing specialists
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: The design has a success in BB (blowblow) glass production technology and special design features added during the mold design process.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: After the design and 3d drawing phase, we made several analysis such as vertical load, internal pressure and impact and check them with earlier acceptable reports of similar product group.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: To be efficient and enviromental, we try to obtain the optimum weight of the bottle and a proper design is the key to do that. Another challenge is to balance the roundness of the corners of the body and neck; so that the cross section was not comprehended to be cylindirical.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: I want to share with the rest of the world, what Sisecam Design Team could do with the aim of design and innovation.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: A new clear design page shows up for the pressured beverages category. In addition, our analyzing abilities are approved among our company which improves our reliability.
