DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: How to wear two rings together in a way which prevents them to move autonomously?
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: I wanted to create a new take on the concept of the wedding set, which is not very common in Denmark.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: I already have a number of variations designed, which use the same concept, but unlike this very classical looking set, feature a much more rugged and organic design. There will be bubbles, leaves and structured surfaces!
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: This design has been under way for almost 2 years!
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: I have wanted to create this design for a long time, and when a customer accepted my proposal of building a "Hooked on You" for her existing engagement ring, I created a very first version, which also became the proof of concept. Then I set out to create a matching set, featuring the hiding hearts which are the namesake of the solitaire.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: We will produce it myself
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: A frustration regarding the abundance of rings on the hands if the engagement ring and wedding ring can't be worn together
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: Men who want to propose to their beloved
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: The inter-linked design is, to my knowledge, unique.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: Hiding Heart and Hooked on You are self- explanatory - as is the name for the entire set: Two Forever
Those are the best names, right?
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Sketches and 3D
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The way the two rings are linked together
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: I used a 3d designer and a highly specialized caster
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: Filing for a patent is expensive and time consuming - and people will copy you anyways. By participating (I hadn't hoped for a medal!) I could prove, that I had developed this design.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: Working with a 3d designer is a challenge. I hope to soon learn the technique myself!
