DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: My design inspiration came from the Big Dipper in the night sky.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: In this design, I tried to explore the relationship between the individual and the collective and the connection between man and nature. Each small tray like every single individual. The legs below are independent and interconnected. We need independent space and to be respected, but we still need collective care and love. Just like pointing the way to people in the sky, Big Dipper make people sitting together on the ground. Everyone has an independent table. We are independent and not lonely.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: Limit production and sale.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: About 1 months.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: This is designed for my own furniture brand-WOOLLYWOODY.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: It's my own production at the moment. If anyone is interested, please contact me.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: In today's era, mobile communication has replaced people's face-to-face communication. People are becoming more and more independent and unwilling to integrate into society. This is very dangerous. And I want to tell you, through this design, that people are collective animals. In collective loyalty, you can be well protected and even better.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: People who work in creative work, or people who are interested in creative ideas.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: No one has yet thought about how to make the tea table more detailed. It's easy to get the wrong cup at the party, and many people don't think about how to avoid this embarrassment. Through this tea table, the independent individual is more integrated into the collective. Make people more open and more willing to share.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: According to my source of inspiration.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Rhinoceros, Keyshot
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: It's easy to get the wrong cup at the party, and many people don't think about how to avoid this embarrassment. Through this tea table, the independent individual is more integrated into the collective. Make people more open and more willing to share.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: How to make it after the design is finished. For example, the size of the leg has been modified many times. And in the process of making, we have broken a lot of table legs.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: On the one hand, I want to prove my design ability, on the other hand, to let more people know and like Big Dipper.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: A design must take into account the later production. It is good for designers to know more about engineering technology.
