DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: The principal idea in the universal design project for the client with hearing loss is to improve the communication in an open space in the kitchen.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: Because of a narrow space in the kitchen, a client without hearing needs more visual communication while circulating and rotating up to 360 degree for a safety and health. A live load as a rolling cabinet is a tool where an individual can use anywhere in the kitchen or on a level.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: It depends on what new technology of industrial design does the client want to improve for home or work in the future,
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: It would take two to four weeks to develop the rolling cabinet design.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: After a client provided me with the information about the visual communication in a narrow kitchen, I gave her a new concept for the rolling cabinet which is flexible to turn around while using in the middle of the kitchen.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: As an Architect and Designer, I do on the industrial design by myself to fit what the client needs. I don't produce or sell at all.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: It's my creative idea as well.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: Nobody gives me the influence about the design for my work. The design is explored by myself without any assistance.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: It depends on what the program the customer needs for the design.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: The product design needs to make it more useful which is different from other concepts.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The rolling cabinet with the similar materials that fit to the new kitchen cabinet and countertop.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: CAD and carpentry.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: A atate of the art universal design for the disabled client.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: I used to work with a contractor for the kitchen remodel and furniture carpenter for the rolling cabinet.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: light weight countertop to fold up and down. Four rolls are very smooth to turn around and return to the base cabinet.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: Marketing for my design business.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: A new technology for rolling cabinet for kitchen is very qualified to submit the design for the competition to share an idea about the universal design with the others.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: I studied in the history, visual design, and architecture to learn by myself.
DI: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
: Because of my hearing loss, I am very sensitive about how to improve my skill on the universal design for individuals with disabilities for home and work.
