DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
BO : 07:25 is an eyewear inspired by time and space. I made the lens replacement of the wooden glasses easy.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
BO : I focused on bringing time and space into glasses naturally.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
BO : The goal is to grow COLONS into a global eyewear brand.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
BO : It was created by worrying more than one year.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
BO : The concept of the brand identity and the Seoul collection was designed first, and it was designed at 07:25.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
BO : It is mass-produced and sold directly.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
BO : I want to design glasses using environmentally friendly materials.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
BO : I pursue the minimalism of the Dieter Rams.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
BO : The metal rim of the front part is different from other glasses.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
BO : 07:25 is inspired and matches the time indicated by the metal part of the front part.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
BO : I use illustrator and Rhino
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
BO : Materials and Glasses Front, Part of the glasses tip.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
BO : It was created by collaborating with eyeglasses craftsmen in Fukui, Japan.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
BO : The metal rim provides clearance to the wood, making it easy to replace the lens.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
BO : Designed according to the basic design methodology.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
BO : The process of mass production as the actual product was the most difficult. There were a lot of factors to consider.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
BO : I submitted the design to be verified through the International Design Awards.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
BO : I have learned a little more about human body structure.
