DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: Pendú is a simple piece that simplifies your life.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: We wanted Pendú to be simple (to install and to use), efficient and attractive.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: We decided to pursue this design ourselves as we felt it was something so simple and useful yet really lacking and it's something that virtually anyone has space for.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: Production for us is just as important as design, we are us much furniture makers as we are designers and so far every piece we've produced from the initial idea though the construction to the finishes has been done by us alone. Having said given the right conditions for leasing or selling the design it is an option that we would certainly consider.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: This is probably the most universal of all our pieces in that it's small and non-imposing, a useful alternative for people with space and a clever solution for those without.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: It really is an all in one piece, serving as a key hook, coat hanger and side table at the same time.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: Pendú is a variation on the word 'pendurar' which means to hang, in that it hangs on the wall and you hang things on it.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: This design as with all of our designs is a combination of a modern design process combined with a traditional construction techniques.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: We both felt that it was something worthy to be submitted and worthy of recognition.
