Valeria Romanova ("VR") answered Design Interview ("DI") questions about their award-winning work Atlos Folding Bicycle. Interview questions prepared by Frank Scott.
VR : The idea of my project is quite simple - the problem of storing bicycles out of season.
VR : Atlos - is an engineering experiment. I wanted to achieve a result as a new design of a bicycle frame, a new principle of folding, which, in the end I achieved.
VR : I would like to improve some details and launch this project to the masses.
VR : About 9-10 months, from the first sketch to a real object.
VR : The decision to create this project was based on a long study of various aspects that are related to bicycles. As a result, I stopped at the idea of storage and folding.
VR : I would like to produce Atlos on my own, but I do not rule out the possibility of cooperation with some company.
VR : My target audience is not athletes, they are people who love cycling, who have a bicycle at home, but who are frustrated by the fact of cluttering space with its storing.
