DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: My target was to improve the hygienic aspects in hotel bars ,lounges and other places.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: My main focus was to create a container where people don't put their fingers in.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: I want to sensitize people who are working in bars.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: About half a year.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: For the above metioned reason.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: This design is produced and sold by Carl Mertens International in Solingen /Germany
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: The final point was that I read how many people don't wash their hands coming from toilet.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: The main customers are hotels and all places where nuts and other nibblings are served.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: Nuts are served in an container and are no more lying in bowls where everybody puts his fingers in.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The name VERSO is coming from the italian verb versare, it is the first present form .
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Pointline is 3D program from Switzerland .
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The form is unique and it is very handy.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: For prototyping I worked together with Carl Mertens Company!
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: Technology did not play a great role this time.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: As the product was ready to use then I asked in hotels where I stayed over night I asked in bars and where ever I was,
the problem of serving nuts is known.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: There were no special challenges.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: I was asked by A'Design Award to submit my design because one of your colleagues saw this work in the book of
Deutscher Designer Club where it was also awarded.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: Afterwoods I decided to enlarge the collection.
DI: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
: Side effect of this design is that not only the hygienic aspects are improved but also hotels are doing savings , that means that nuts have not to be thrown away.
