We had the distinct pleasure to interview award winning designer Beck Storer about their original and creative Installation design work. Beck Storer is an award-winning communication designer, that makes our world a better place with their original installation works.
Beck Storer ("BS") answered Design Interview ("DI") questions about their award-winning work The Reflection Room Installation. Interview questions prepared by Frank Scott.
BS : Inspired by the colour red, which symbolises good fortune, The Reflection Room is a spatial experience that features red mirrors to create an infinite space. Inside, typography plays the role of connecting the audience to each of the Chinese New Year’s main values and prompts people to reflect on the year that has been and the year ahead.
BS : We were approached by Emporium Melbourne to create an installation to celebrate the 2017 Chinese New Year.
BS : Our aim was to create an engagement that triggered a personal and emotional reaction. The Reflection Room is a space for one to immerse themselves in the Chinese New Year sentiments of Longevity, Prosperity and Happiness and to reflect on the year pass and the year ahead.

BS : The entire structure is cladded in red mirror from ceiling to floor, whichcreating an infinite room

BS : The cutting of the red mirror had to be millimetre perfect. There was no room for compromise!
