DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: Design’s idea and motivation is experience in the nature, people, history and travel.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: The thing we focused on variety design is elegant as well as comfortable gift.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: I’d love to do various package design with new efforts.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: It’s been 2 months to complete the design.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: This design is made for the purpose of exports of Korea in global society and global society in Korea.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: We directly produce and design our package.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: Variety is elegant and easy to present as a gift, but having uniqueness in packaging to give receiver a feeling of specialty.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: We did numerous market research and rather than focusing on a design, we watched many foreign designs to have better insight in terms of perspective.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: Main customer for us is who drinking tea.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: The uniqueness and the major concept is convenience, noble, but public and special in the middle of the balance.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: In the variety there are various 10 types of teas so it’s named variety.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Mac, illustrator and Photoshop.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The biggest uniqueness for variety is individual packaged 1 tea bag packaging shape.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: Working as a team of designer and planner.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: My role is overall design direction. Where we should go, how the color match, and how the shape should be..like overall technical decisions are for my sphere.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: I researched customers preference and how can our customers be more comfortable in opening the tea packages.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: I needed to do re-works as the planned design didn’t come out. That was the hardship. Actually in package shapes, we needed to consider the convenience of opening tea packages so through many times of samplings and tests I finally completed the package.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: I wanted to confirm the value of our design.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: I could research about package developing in convenience and customers behavioral pattern. And they are our company’s valuable resource.
DI: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
: There will be no greater questions. I gave meaningful answers throughout the good questions reminding me of past memories of making Variety.
