DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?

: The main principle while designing was " timeless ; when elegance meets sophistication in function, this creation is design for every household, in tune with the latest technology and also state-of-art design which is suitable for today's modern living lifestyle, combine with style and substance, we are certain that this design will be a major design piece in redefining the art of sound and lifestyle.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?

: I mainly focus on the all rounded beauty and also creating convenience to our customer especially we had achieve combining style and substance in one piece, which is a cutting-edge design in fulfilling the needs for mobile phone users in regards of IOS or Android operating system, works beautifully for both ends, it's a perfectly design home/office appliances for the modern day.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?

: for the love of design, winning this award means a lot to me when it comes to designing something i never design before, it gives me courage to explore to design something that would change the world. and make design matters to the world.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?

: it took me about 10 months from conceptualising, design and make it work.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?

: it all start from the love of design, and this is my first product design is originally created by me, all because for the love of creating " timeless " design.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?

: yes this design is production by Edifier, the No. 1 Sound and Audio appliances in China. it will be sold worldwide, mostly in Italy, France, greece, and USA.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?

: It was a client request as we are the official design agency for Edifier, this year we were given the opportunity to design a product for their Home Sound System and we are so excited for the born of this creation of ours to the world.

DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?

: It was a team effort from my company, originally designed by me and worked by my creative team members in make it real.

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?

: Music lovers and people who appreciate timeless art.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?

: The function and Material were designed to make this product an exceptional piece of art which no other competition out there for the time being. we are proud of this finally make it to A'design Award and to the world.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?

: I named it "Arena" based on the total function and outlook of the product has presented, it was appropriate as this product produce the audio atmosphere that we normally only experience in the real arena and live concerts, it is the device that create excitement and for the love of real music, where soon you could enjoy privately in a living household, studio and offices.

DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?

: After Effect, 3D Max, Adobe Illustrator and hand sketches.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?

: Being portable and also works in stand-alone pieces no matter where you are. The Unique Selling point is still the " timelessness " of the design.

DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?

: we work with audio and technical engineer while constructing and designing this product, as we need to find a balance and make sure our initial design doesn't change much to fulfil the overall beauty of it.

DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?

: Combining and smartly utilise of today's technology to make it workable in any circumstances we could think of. Technology played an important role to make it possible for it to shine.

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?

: We worked on focus groups around the world, and collect our very own data and output which we gathered from Sound enthusiast, Interior designers and also technicians.

DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?

: In making sure the designs workable, our challenge is to fit every component beautifully and simple in assemble the product.

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?

: A'design Award has been supportive and gave me recognition from the first year i have joined in 2013. I believe A'design only recognise great designs and without hesitation i join again this year.

DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?

: Staying out of comfort zone and constantly push myself and team forward and never give up of thinking everything is possible. That's true happiness.

DI: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?

: I just wish this product will be widely recognise by the world with the network that A'design provided. Thank You.
