DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: The powerful features of the volcano brought me to design a furniture that allows various forms of sitting and lying.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: The VOLCANO is a furniture that can be positioned in various poses in order to sit or lie, alone , in a couple or for a group of friends nestling in it.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: My attract to nature phenomena and admiration for the power and presence of the volcanic eruption.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: The powerful features of the volcano, heat, powerful, eruption, flowing, changing, colorful and transition. It brought me to design a furniture that allows various forms for sitting and lying.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: The "VOLCANO" suitable for all ages and for having good times with friends and family.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: The volcano is a furniture that was built from round wooden surface with holes, which soft tubes pass through it to create the sitting surface. The tubes fit themselves to you during the sitting and you can change them in several ways for your convenience.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: My inspiration, VOLCANO. Volcanic eruption is a process in which the magma break through cracks in the earth crust and reach the surface - a mesmerizing natural phenomenon, intriguing and spectacular. The hot eruptive lava gets cold when contacting the air, than hardens and changes color and texture in the process.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: I worked with models to find the right materials for this project.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: It's sculptural element, a variety of inspirational positions.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: The challenges that I faced during the realization of my concept wat to find the right technique and materials.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: I studied different techniques and materials.
