DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
RB : the main idea was to have a chair that could be stored without taking up too much space
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
RB : I wanted it to be a beautiful, comfortable and foldable piece and especially simple to use

RB : I would like to produce on a large scale

RB : It was something I already wanted to design, then a client arrived with this need

RB : my intentios is to lease the production rights

RB : It was from an office client who needed a chair for an interchangeable space

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
RB : some friend suggested using the fusion of words foldable ( dobravel in portuguese) with gaia
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
RB : 3d softwares, router cnc, 3d printers, hand tools
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
RB : The curvature of the chair's back and seat is finished with a manually carved

RB : manufacturing assistance
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
RB : I checked several chairs, looking for examples of comfortable angles to spend hours sitting without needing cushions.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
RB : create the hinges
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
RB : I thought that because it was a very different example from what was already available globally, it might have a chance at the award
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
RB : I learned to master the 3D printing process to help develop the chair
