: I always try to make emotions wearable.

: The achievement of this jewel is to keep a warm memory.

: The design is custom made.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: It took 4 to 6 weeks to work out how the design should be.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: The design is made to fulfill a wish of my customer - to make a memory and warm emotion visible and wearable.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: My customers wife wears the collier.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: The task was to make the value of a broken shell visible.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: It’s custom made.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: The broken shell. My customer brought that shell from down under to Germany - that’s unique.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: It’s what is made for. To make it possible to remember a memory/emotion.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Goldsmiths worktools.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: To highlight the fine structure of the broken shell.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: A specialist for rare opals.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: In that design is technology not very important.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: The research was made together with the customer.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: The opal can be worn or not - that’s flexible. But to make it flexible and safe, that was challenging.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: Look close to tiny and broken things. Than look closer :-)
