DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?

MK : The amazing history of the Achaemenid empire of Persia.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?

MK : To design a piece that can be created with semi-precious metals or stones and be a day-to-day piece of jewelry or It can also be made of gold with high-end gems and evolved into a red carpet-worthy masterpiece.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?

MK : Based on this design concept, she wants to open a jewelry store where she will create individual and unique pendants for each date for every special order.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?

MK : The process of gathering information, designing, and creating this concept took about 6 months.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?

MK : She is open to leasing the production rights or finding investors to produce the work herself

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?

MK : It was a jewelry exhibition for Mehregan ceremonial Achaemenid month in Tehran/Iran so she searched about Achamenid jewelry history and she got the idea from there.

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?

MK : This design can be a piece that can be created with semi-precious metals or stones and be a day-to-day piece of jewelry or It can also be made of gold with high-end gems and evolved into a red carpet-worthy masterpiece. Therefore, it could satisfy many different kinds of customers.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?

MK : It's functional and it records a date.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?

MK : The shape of the pendant is based on the lotus flower that is engraved on almost all walls in Persepolis. This flower was the symbol of immortality and perpetual beneficence and also embodies the sun and the twelve months of the year.

DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?

MK : It was designed by Matrix software.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?

MK : All the collection's necklaces are similar in their basic form, but they are unique, as they each show a specific date. You will be gifted by your own date keeper.

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?

MK : Yes. she was searching about the jewelry history of the Achaemnid empire.

DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?

MK : Spending a long time to find the conceptual aspect and symbolic meaning of the lotus the twelve-petaled rosette was a big challenge

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?

MK : She wanted to have a Valid stamp on her design so she decided to submit her work to the best international design award.
