DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
AS : Creating a package with two separate containers, one for red and one for white wine, with two different orifices, in a container which reminds us of the place where great wines are born, the barrel.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
AS : We wanted to end the dillema of choosing a red or white wine. Now you can enjoy both in one packaging.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
AS : To break the stereotypes of a bottled wine being better than a packaged wine and make it easier for people to be able to buy both white and red wine.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
AS : The creation of innovative packaging that will break the stereotypes in the market of bottled wine and that will radically change the way of choosing a quality wine.
The challenge was to bridge the gap between those who prefer white and those who prefer red wine, eliminating the dilemmas of the final choice.

DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
AS : No there weren't.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
AS : Adults of both sexes and all ages, who enjoy wine, usually with company.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
AS : We created a package with two separate containers, one for red and one for white wine, with two different funels, something that had never been done before.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
AS : A lot of people usually cannot decide whether to buy red or white wine, especially when there are a lot of people involved in the decision, with different taste. We ended their dilema by fusing the two wines in one packaging, and this is how the name derived.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
AS : An inovvative package that breaks the cliches of bottled wine and defies the norm was the focus of The Wine Barrel Dilemma project. Bridging the gap between white and red wine enthusiasts with a 2 in 1 easy to serve package, we ended the usual dilemma by creating a practical, easy to carry design that accomodates two barrels, each one with its unique tap that enhances the wine tasting experience.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
AS : The wine out of the box, which is the notion of moving wine from the big barrel to a smaller barrel so as to not lose its natural habitat is a creative concept and the mix of two different wines in one packaging is an innovation.
