DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?

AM : A black hole is a mysterious entity in space. The beautiful and amazing image of the black hole brings to mind the flow of a fluid. In my opinion, sound and music are also fluid currents in space that are released into the environment. So we tried to combine the technology and the beautiful appearance of the black hole to create a creative speaker that reflects sound with much better quality.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?

AM : Creating a new creative design with improved technology was our primary goal—design of a Bluetooth and portable speaker that can be charged wirelessly. The aesthetic appearance and the induction of the fantastic space of the black hole in the sky was the focus of the design. The significant usability of this product was essential for us.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?

AM : We are going to improve it and make it to become produced.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?

AM : Almost 14 months.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?

AM : This concept was a creative idea. We have always been interested in combining new technologies with aesthetic concepts and creating usable products. The unique feature of Blackhole is that top control touchpad would be charged with wireless technology in which is embedded in it.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?

AM : We are going to sell or lease the production rights. We prefer to design and create newer ideas.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?

AM : I have a great interest in music. So, We tried to create a speaker with unique functional features.

DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?

AM : Many speakers are designed in the world, but that is the result of my idea of a beautiful and functional speaker.

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?

AM : This is a product for all people. Everyone can use a portable Bluetooth speaker anywhere.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?

AM : Unique appearance and technology. The use of various technologies such as USB, Bluetooth, wireless charging, and improved sound propagation technology are the special features of this product.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?

AM : Blackhole. This name is derived from real black holes in space. Real black holes inspire the appearance of this product.

DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?

AM : We have used many tools to design this product: manual sketching and 3D design and rendering tools.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?

AM : Combining aesthetics in product appearance with technology is the essential feature of this design.

DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?

AM : We designed this product as a team. Many types of research are done to develop this product.

DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?

AM : Technology is one of the main features of this product. Uses of USB, Bluetooth, and touchpad control, and wireless charging are essential features.

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?

AM : This product is designed based on digital technologies.

DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?

AM : Implementing a sophisticated concept and blending it with some technology in a feasible manner was the most challenging stage.

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?

AM : As A`design is a very prestigious competition, we decide to submit our design.

DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?

AM : As harder, as more try; as more try, as more joy
