DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: Well, this particular work started in Marken, Holland. Marken is a beautiful small fishermen´s town. While sitting on the grass facing the coast I saw all the ships (actually boats and big boats), and the shape of the bow of a particular boat led me to start making some random sketches of what now resembles the lateral view of the legs of the table, leaning forward, just like the fore of a ship.
It remained just a drawing.
Some years later, back in Uruguay, found that same notebook at the same period of time I was working on a home desk design for my personal use. The idea was to make a sample in Uruguay and use it for myself.
The shape stuck in my head and served as the leit motif of the whole project.
