DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: The idea comes from the use of water as an element to convey the concept of surfacing and being a surface.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: I'm fascinated by how we bring into being our identities and the role those around us have in that process.
For me, we surface when we show something of ourselves.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: I hope to have further opportunities to exhibit the work after successful shows in the Los Angeles Center of Digital Art and ARTPARIS Art Fair.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: The idea was developed over the course of a month.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: I was commissioned to design a book cover and used a similar image for this project which related to alternative ways psychologists view the human mind and bring these together.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: I'm talking to various people about a number of projects and actively researching new 3D printing technology in order to create real objects.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: My fascination with digital art.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: Visual art lovers.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: I'm hoping that the design makes its ethereal quality into something seemingly tangible.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The idea comes from my fascination with water. I wanted to use it to create a concept of coming to the surface, of freedom and rebirth.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: 3D softwares.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The juxtaposition of human life and water to create something living.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: The challenges are mainly technical due to the fact that I am self-taught.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: Having previously been noticed online, this has given me more courage and inspiration to submit my work.
