DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
DS : One day I bought beautiful shoes but couldn't find the matching bag. Since I am making lumino-kinetic objects as well as necklaces out of plexiglas, plexy was my logical choice of the material for the bags.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
DS : The main focus was FUNCTION combined with BEAUTY. I wanted to achieve a bag that will become THE bag - different from other bags women wear.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
DS : I hope to conquer the world ;)))
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
DS : The process of designing in my studio was relatively short, but the process of making the prototype needed time because of number of experts needed to be included.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
DS : I pursuit my inspiration, as usually when I design things I like to wear, to use or to live in...
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
DS : I am producing this line of bags myself.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
DS : I needed a bag that is different and beautiful.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
DS : The target customer for this bag is every woman that has taste.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
DS : Although there are some plexy bags in the market, they look more than plastic boxes than like bags.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
DS : I have designed it, I like it and I have named the bag after me.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
DS : Paper and a pencil for the sketches, then a ruler for the exact drawing of the design and then a paper prototype....
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
DS : Having two pieces of plexy attached to a textile clutch makes this bag unique.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
DS : I needed professionals from different fields to finish my project.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
DS : There is some but not much technology involved.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
DS : Finding the rignt material for the inner clutch was the real challenge.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
DS : People who saw the bag were thrilled as much as I was, so I decided to submit my design to a professional judgment.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
DS : Contacting professionals in different fields with skils and knowledge that I don't have helped improving myself.
