DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
GA : Rather than considering a chair as a static product with a single function, I intended to take a different approach.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
GA : A primary focus of my presentation was to introduce a product as a chair where the user has a major role in determining how to utilize the product in accordance with the desired function.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
GA : It is my belief that this product will have a bright future. Consequently, I am interested in mass producing it with the cooperation of professionals in the industry and selling it as it has the potential to be used in various scenarios.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
GA : Approximately one month.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
GA : This was an inspiring experience that I wanted to share with other professionals.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
GA : It has not been produced. According to the circumstances, I will consider how to produce it. However, I intend to sell it on a large scale in the future.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
GA : A different way of thinking about objects.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
GA : No, before beginning this project, I checked the products of other A Design Award winners to ensure that my idea was innovative.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
GA : Those who are enthusiastic about experiencing new things.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
GA : Users' interaction in shaping the space according to their needs.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
GA : The shape of the chair evokes the arch shape of bridges, and the inside of the chair symbolizes a moon. As a result, the name "Monarch" was chosen in order to comply with the basic meaning of this word and to reflect the greatness of the person who deserves to occupy this place.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
GA : In order to design the procedures, I used a variety of software tools, including Autocad, 3d Max and Vray.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
GA : The feasibility of using a chair from both sides.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
GA : The entire process, from concept to final document, was carried out by me.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
GA : The use of technology is an undeniable truth in my designing process from the outset to the end.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
GA : To determine whether my idea can be successful in this industry, I conducted sufficient research on the chairs precedents, particularly the modular chairs.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
GA : For me, the task was totally inspiring.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
GA : At a workshop held by Kioskedia in Iran, I was introduced to some international design competitions. After reviewing the website, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to express my ideas and evaluate myself.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
GA : A ' Design Award provided me with a great deal of knowledge. It is my pleasure to express my gratitude to the support team for providing me with valuable guidance to improve the final renders. I found the experience to be very rewarding.
