DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
CX : Inspired by the spellbinding beauty of nature in Fiji, moonrise on black beach shares my memory of our families' favourite sunset experience on the sand dunes of Sigatoka. The romantic colours of sky merge into the wild ocean. Endless sand dunes stretch along the roaring Atlantic coast. It's our children's favourite playground as they run down the dunes towards the beach. Here, in nature, we feel deepest happiness and bond deeply as a family.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
CX : I want to share this beautiful experience with my audience and help them nurture their close connections with loved ones and mother nature.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
CX : I would love to have as many parents use our products as possible as our baby wrap truly creates the most beautiful bonding experience from day one.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
CX : It took me 6 months.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
CX : Life inspired me so much to launch IVAU, a brand dedicated to celebrate beautiful of nature and nurture our close connections.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
CX : My designs are exclusive for IVAU.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
CX : I used baby wrap to carry my two children and I truly believe this amazing baby carrier need a makeover.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
CX : Our target customers are families expecting newborn.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
CX : Our hand-painted prints with a story to tell is completely unique from normal plain coloured baby wraps.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
CX : Moonrise on Black Beach is exactly the most mesmerizing view I remember.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
CX : The design is hand-painted in watercolor.
