We had the distinct pleasure to interview award winning designer Li Jiuzhou about their original and creative Packaging design work. Li Jiuzhou is an award-winning communication designer, that makes our world a better place with their original packaging works.
Li Jiuzhou ("LJ") answered Design Interview ("DI") questions about their award-winning work Mid Autumn Festival Gift Tea Packaging. Interview questions prepared by Frank Scott.
LJ : Mid-Autumn Festival is a very special festival in China. On this festival, everyone will give friends what they think is good. In the design, a beautiful combination of blue and gold was used, and the pale golden moon pattern and greetings were used to construct a whole figure. The moon is not complete, which symbolizes that "people have joys and sorrows, and the moon is cloudy and full", but the whole moon is a circle, which represents perfection and reunion. Open the box. There are eight metal boxes with tea in them. Eight boxes correspond to eight moon shapes. There is a full moon in the middle, which represents the meaning of wishing reunion.
LJ : In ancient China, the moon was divided into eight morphological stages in a year, and eight tea leaves represented the moon's eight morphological stages in a year. The meaning of gifts can last for a year. And those eight metal boxes are reusable, and they can be used year after year.
