DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
MM : The inspiration was the facets of diamonds. The idea was to create something remarkable and unique.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
MM : My main focus was to create the base shape of the bottle and try to avoid doing something that already exists.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
MM : The future plan is to use this achievement to promote and make design better every day.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
MM : The concept took around 2 weeks to get done.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
MM : I had this idea in mind and decided to bring it to reality.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
MM : At the moment i'm thinking about selling the project.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
MM : Designing package was always a thing that i loved, so i decided to do something without a client changing the design for something that i don't like. So it was 100% my view.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
MM : This was only by myself.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
MM : The targeted customer are people that want something very specific and premium and are willing to pay for it.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
MM : Probably the fact of using the very unique and premium shape.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
MM : The name came from the Corsair word. A privateer or corsair (from the Italian "corsaro": ship commander who attacks ships) was someone who, by mission or through a government's charter (or letter of marque), was authorized to plunder ships from another nation, taking advantage of the fact that commercial transactions were based, at the time, on the material transfer of wealth. Theoretically, he was a legal pirate, recognized by international law.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
MM : I used 3Ds Max and Vray, Illustrator was used to do the vectors and Photoshop for retouch.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
MM : I believe that's the concept of the bottle itself.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
MM : This was only by myself. I worked on everything.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
MM : Nothing too much specific.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
MM : I did a great research on Behance and Pinterest mainly to grab some references.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
MM : Modelling the shape of the bottle was very challenging, and also understand how the light affects the shape leaded into a lot of tests.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
MM : I've been submiting works to A'Design Awards for years, i believe that's a great way to promote the works.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
MM : I learned to don't skip the steps on the project, on this case in specific i was always back to some step to refine. I'm a bit perfeccionist also, sometimes i think that the project will never be done, this is something that i always trying to improve.
