DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
AP : The fundamental principle was to make a series of furniture with organic shapes, achieving a balance between functionality and aesthetics.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
AP : I wanted to achieve a line of furniture that has a personal and playful character.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
AP : Bring these conceptual designs to reality.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
AP : A few years.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
AP : It was a project carried out on my own, to venture into the world of furniture design.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
AP : I am in the process of materializing them.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
AP : My desire to explore different design territories.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
AP : Estudio Campana, Alex Proba, Karim Rashid and Gaetano Pesce among others.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
AP : My subjectivity as a designer.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
AP : The name of the design has to do with the fundamental characteristic of this furniture, its organic morphology.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
AP : Cinema 4d and Photoshop, but first it was a pencil and paper.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
AP : Its morphological sensuality.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
AP : It was solo, although some industrial design studios are helping me to make the prototypes.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
AP : My design is influenced by the forms of nature and the organic sculptures of Jean Arp.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
AP : The main challenge is to achieve correct ergonomics in the proportions of the furniture and that they all feel part of the same design system.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
AP : Just out of curiosity and to trust my creations.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
AP : I have learned a lot about industrial design, especially furniture.
