DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
LD : At the beginning of this route, my attention was drawn to Qashqai paintings and carpets, which are a combination of animal and plant motifs. And the latest was from nature. I researched these works and after talking to the women of this great tribe, I realized that in the past, all stages of carpet production from design to weaving were done only by Qashqai women. In my opinion, the independence and freedom of Qashqai women in presenting the art of carpet weaving has been the most important point of this process.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
LD : Design is an innate desire to communicate and communicate, a skill used in all the visual arts and design. Creating the best solution to problems is different solutions for making a product that is very pleasant and enjoyable to use. Design can mean whatever you want it to mean to you. Design is about communicating feelings through visual sensations and unique experiences. People don't just want products that work, they want to feel happy while using them.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
LD : I plan to exhibit at the gallery in new york. I want to partner with some artists there to publish and design a project in some kind of art aspects. I usually live in the future, not the past. I think this is helping me to see the world in a better way.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
LD : The oak Project is very complex project. The fashion designing of a product follows one process after the other as the development of design requires rigorous involvement.Each process is a course of action that will help in reaching the end goal easily. The product development process in fashion stems from an idea that is visualized in an expressive form to reach the goals without constraints. The oak design creative process involves several steps that take atleast 12 to 18 months to reach its goal.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
LD : In my recent collection, “Oak”, I decided to address the most original form of art in the world, which is nature in my point of view. To design this collection, I traveled through Iran’s nature and its different parts for many hours, such as the “Lut” desert, and while being faded into their beauties, illustrating them.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
LD : No. It belongs to my brand, Lilidchi. I and my team produce our products and have a business plan and have our own market.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
LD : I have tried to present a new image of the desert to the audience. To achieve this goal, I have used various and bright colors and the motif of animals such as camels that live in the desert and are reminiscent of the sunny and hot days of this pristine habitat.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
LD : Usually no. But Persian paintings help me to imagine my ideas.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
LD : The target of this project is mostly women. But I have men's customers too. I talk about the Iran market. The age of my customers is between 20-65. It shows you there is a wide range of people.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
LD : “Oak”, I decided to address the most original form of art in the world, which is nature in my point of view. Oak Forest in Iran burn in a fire last year. I want to present my project to the nature of my country.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
LD : I had usually buy fashion magazines and find out what is the news in fashion. Check social media to be up to date is very important. Todays people took much time in internet base medias. With my development team we observe the fashion trends and habits of society.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
LD : Persian Motifs very helpful in this proccess. Persian art or Iranian art has one of the richest art heritages in world history and has been strong in many media including architecture, painting, weaving, pottery, calligraphy, metalworking, and sculpture.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
LD : Traveling in the desert is very hard and takes lots of energy. Because I have to travel in summer and it is so challenging.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
LD : Last year I won the gold prize in IDA Design Award and after that, I decide to submit my work to another competition. After searching and talking to other designers I found A' Design is a very difficult award and so classy in the fashion field. So I decide to submit my work here.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
LD : I learn that I should bring more time into my design to work in international markets. I need to present my designs to more people and plan to have a runway in Europe.
