DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
YP : The designer grasps an understanding that the space itself could be decked out with natural light, art and even spatial construction.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
YP : With a total area of 1,448 square-metre, the house have been reduced the number of partitions and minimized the decorations so that the space will be perceived as a whole.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
YP : The concept based on the requirement of client.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
YP : The background of this design.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
YP : It presents the personality of client who is an education blogger with full of vigour.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
YP : The methodology of design:pose questions, do researches, know background, brief requirements and challenges, come up with ideas, find out the better answer. Mostly we have to circle this methodology if the result is not satisfying.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
YP : the processing of structural curve surface would be the principle challenge while creating this space. The curving staircase was made of several white-paint steel panels in different heights, which had been cut and forged for tightly connecting and turning out a naturally smooth radian. The living room in void structure features TV backdrop like the page corner rolled up. This bespoke curly shape in aluminum plate appears to be made by the procedures of manual lofting, making master plate, building in the wall, spraying finishing paint afterwards.
