DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?

: The global climate change leaves visible traces in the environment which sometimes emerge in the form of scars or devastation or simply represent the disappearance of something that has always been present. Humans struggle against this largely self-inflicted new world order and continuously try to slow this process down. The ever-shrinking glaciers in the high mountains are covered with awnings during summer and the regions which are endangered by sea flooding are equipped with new ramparts and sluices in order to protect the coast. Just as the tsunamis, the hurricanes transform the man-made environment in large stretches of land into a mishmash at one go, which makes it hard to guess what kind of function its components had to fulfill in the past.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?

: A new kind of aesthetics defined by chaos.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?

: Apply the principle to other projects as well.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?

: Over three years

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?

: It was an inspiration which was then presented to the interested party.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?

: Of course, this project will be further developed with a global construction company.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?

: It should be seen as a designer statement to give a new aesthetic to the mess created by storm.

DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?

: Not that I know

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?

: It should be a useful answer to things that happen almost every day everywhere and make it difficult for humans.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?

: One should not be afraid of things that appear unexpectedly but man should always seek a solution. I think such thoughts have meanwhile many.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?

: Wind Tower is the expression of a form that could be shaped by natural forces.

: the shift of the center of gravity

: several of my employees were involved in the final phase

: the technology is at the heart of the implementation

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?

: it was created purely intuitively

: the visibility of the wind turbines from the interior

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?

: I think that all design approaches should be shared

DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?

: It is the restructuring of a chaotic environment into a new Esthetics
