DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: In fact, the main idea of this design is that the scattered and crowded office work tables in office environments that have not been able to find enough space for table lamps so we decided to survey among the office workers. According to results of survey we determind the main problem and production has been begun to design by experienced designers of Lampart Company and it was developed some functions as space saving feature and multidirectional movings with its ergonomic shapes. Meteorite was inspired by the often repeated meteor shower in space: the meteorite light project reminds of meteorite rainfall that the lighting becomes a desk lamp by separating the pieces while in the form of a pendant.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: While designing meteorite light, our main focus was how to use a light fitting with less space and how to reproduce a single object with ergonomic shape.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: The start and end dates of the design are 2 months in total.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: It can be said 50/50, because in line with a plan, we have come up with a new product development decision with our team and we designed by following our inspiration.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: All the rights of the meteorite light belongs to Lampart Lighting Solutions. The production stage is realized by Lampart Company.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: In the design stage, there was a lot of support from my talented teammates and I am appreciate them.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: It is generally designed for those who work in busy office environments.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: The most obvious difference that meteorite is a pendant light consisting of wireless six parts on one surface that can be used as pendant or desk lamps and the design was made especially for offices and public use with its 2 in 1 feature;
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The meteorite light name came from the meteor rain in nature that we inspired.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The most unique aspect of our design is that, it can be turned into multiple lighting fitting and can be placed wirelessly anywhere you want.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: We worked together with my colleagues who have technical and expertise skills.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: When we were doing our design, we did it with all of our specialists, by doing all kinds of market research, analyzing community expectations and thinking about what kind of problems we could encounter.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: There was not a problem that restricted the design stage, only to try to produce the lighting part wirelessly was a bit difficult for us.
